As soon as you tried to close the case lid, you inquired about memory upgrade. I asked you about the direction of memory, right? (If it's i7-8700, we usually use 16 gigabytes, so where's one 8 gigabyte memory?) You've been repaired by another repair shop before... One out of two memories is not recognized well, so they say they are taking it out and storing it. 


I also have to go through a procedure to check if the slot is recognized normally before further upgrading the memory. I checked the memory slot using the existing memory and my test memory.

Note 1) The order of memory slots was referred to as 1, 2, 3, and 4 from close to the CPU. 

Note 2) We checked if the memory went into Simos by plugging it in 1, 2, 3, and 4 slots with one.

(First test) Customer i7-8700 + Customer's main board.

If you plug in memory in slots 1 and 2, it doesn't recognize it. 

Memory is recognized in slots 3 and 4.

(Second test) I installed the CPU i7-8700 => My CPU G4900. 

Slots 1 and 2 are recognized normally.

Slots 3 and 4 are recognized normally, but when you shake the memory left and right with your finger, the Simos screen stops.

(Third Test) Reinstall the original i7-8700 CPU. 

It is the same as the second test result. [1, 2] Normal. [3, 4] Normal. - Poor connection.

It is a simple, presumed CPU connection failure symptom. (The CPU socket connection on the main board may be bad.)

After replacing the CPU and M/B, you have to test the symptoms while actually using the computer. 

Poor access may not cause symptoms in a short time. Please check if it's for a day or a week at the longest!

(Extra test) Connect your CPU i7-8700 to my main board B360M PRO4.

1, 2, 3, 4 memory slots are all recognized normally.

Originally, I was only going to clean the dust. It takes at least ~ 30 minutes to disassemble the computer and proceed with the inspection. We have to test all four memory slots per CPU. If there were two memories, it would take more time to check. We opened and checked this much, but we couldn't help but clean the dust and reapply the thermal compound, so we proceeded together. I think you said you didn't change your mind during the inspection for memory upgrades.

I don't think it would be good to add memory to a computer in this state. And since there is a possibility that the existing memory is normal, it is also a way to re-install the memory that has been extracted memory. If the symptoms continue to appear, I think I will replace the main board to check the symptoms. Since it is a computer that needs to be replaced and checked for symptoms, it is difficult to give a definite answer because it is not a symptom that has been double-checked while checking. You should actually replace and use the parts and check the progress.
