This is a 14Z980-GA50ML laptop. The capacity of the C drive was insufficient, so they wanted to upgrade the storage space, so they came to visit us. Just in time, it was an extra laptop with M.2 slots, so we upgraded it by installing 250 gigabytes of SSD in the spare slot. Release all screws fixed to the back of the notebook and open the lid of the back panel. 


 

The back plate looks like the following. I don't think it was easy to disassemble at once because the plastic was well pressed with clasp. It would be nice to work carefully so that the plastic clasp is not damaged. No matter how carefully you work, there is a risk that one or two plastic clasp will break because it is so break. 


 

There are two empty slots. You can add M.2 SSD slots and memory slots. 


 

A new 250 HP M.2 SSD is installed in an empty M.2 SSD slot. (EX900 M.2 SSD with NVMe) 


 

 

The boot screen appears normally and enters the desktop. Windows wanted to continue using the existing C drive, so we didn't proceed with reinstalling the windows separately. Device Manager is checking that the newly installed product is being recognized properly. Sometimes, if it doesn't recognize, I think I'll try rebooting or reinstalling it. Some older laptops have NVMe-style SSDs that are not recognized. Some laptops only recognize SATA M.2 SSDs, while others only recognize NVMe methods. It's not easy to distinguish between models (because each manufacturer has a lot of models), so I'll know when I actually install them. Anyway, the laptop above is a well-recognized NVMe-type M.2 SSD. 


 

The capacity of the C drive is 153 gigabytes out of 221. (It seems that the files were arranged with external hard drives and visited because they didn't know whether to reinstall the window or not.) Disk Manager initialized the newly mounted SSD, and then added 232 gigabytes of capacity to the D drive.
