This is the Samsung laptop of the customer who visited at the hospital. NT500R5M-X78 It is a laptop consisting of 128 SSD + 1 terra HDD. The basic SSD capacity was small, so there was not enough space for the C drive with the operating system installed. So I used to install and run games on my hard disk, but because the hard disk was running slowly, I wanted to install games on my SSD, so I replaced the existing 128-G SSD with a Hynix 500-Gi product.

 

This model allows SSD upgrades only when the back plate of the NT500R5M-X78 is disassembled. I also separated the hard disk. You don't have to open the memory slot.

 

If you disassemble the laptop, it has the following structure. There is a space under the white cable in the middle for the M.2 SSD to be installed. We plan to remove the battery first and replace the M.2 SSD.

 

The shape of the back plate, the interior of the laptop, and the left side of the SSD shows the M.2 SSD slot by lifting the white cable connected to the small board and the main board.

 

LITEON CV3-8D128 SSD is installed. This is the M.2 SSD of the Sata 3 interface.

 

=> Maximum read speed is 500MB/s.

The SSD below is SK Hynix's GOLD P31 NVMe product. Using PCIe interface,

 

=> Maximum read speed is 3500MB/s.

Sockets can also be plugged in M-type, but there are also laptops that are not recognized on the main board. Fortunately, NVMe M.2 SSD is also supported for the laptop below. It's a pity if it's not compatible, but you can upgrade your parallel laptop with the 860 EVO 500 gigabyte product using the existing SATA3 interface.

 

We are checking that the SSD is recognized normally in the M.2 SSD and Simos mode of the SATA (LITEON) and PCIe (SK Hynix) interfaces.

 

I also re-applied thermal grease because I heard that the heat is high and the fan noise is severe. I think it's a structure where the fever is inevitably high. Isn't the heat sink too small? I'd like to. I've never re-applied thermal compound for three to four years, so it'd be nice if you could re-apply it together when you break it down like this. It cleanses the hardened summer and replaces it with a new thermal compound.

 

MX-4 thermal compound was re-applied and re-assembled. When working on the inside, it is always good to work without battery power. When reassembling, plug in the battery power cable again.

 

We are reinstalling the version of Windows 10 (20H2) after upgrading the capacity to 500 gigabytes of your laptop SSD that you visited at the hospital. First of all, I removed the hard disk with personal data stored and installed Windows 10 OS with only SSD installed. After installing and updating the window, we will install the hard disk and set it to D-drive (DATA).

 

This is the process of installing a new SSD and installing Windows 10 in the Samsung laptop of Byeongjeom customer.

 

After installing the window, I checked the temperature of the laptop during the window update process. As shown below, 56 degrees is the current temperature, and the maximum temperature is over 80 degrees. It's a structure that's hard to cool off, so it's better to use a laptop stand with a fan. And I recommended removing the keyboard cover and using it. I think it would be a little helpful to relieve the heat of the main board and CPU by removing and using the cover that warms up the keyboard cover on the main board of the laptop like an tablet. (So that the air is well ventilated)

 

It is a laptop that basically increases the CPU temperature without doing anything else.
