Lenovo Z51-70, RAM, SSD upgrade.

It's Lenovo Z51-7080K6 model. The operation speed of the laptop was very slow, so I booted to Windows PE and checked the status of the laptop's hard disk. As shown below, many bad sectors are found and there are symptoms that the test cannot proceed continuously.

Bad sector.

There is no screw to fix the hinge part of the laptop. Later, when I disassembled and checked the laptop, the nut part of the hinge part was damaged and loose, so all the screws seemed to have fallen out. The laptop's plastic cover still supports hinge pressure, but if you open and close it repeatedly, it seems likely to break even that.

I collected screws on the back of the laptop, but there are no screws everywhere like teeth missing.

We removed the hard disk where many bad sectors were detected. 500 gigabytes are equipped with a 7,200 RPM hitachi hard disk.

I removed the broken hard disk.

This product is a model that can't be decomposed by loosening the screws on the back. It's a laptop assembled in the old way that the lower plate is separated only when all three screws fixed under the laptop keyboard are released. I don't think there are many laptops like this these days.

Remove the keyboard and loosen the screw to disintegrate.

The hinge holding part was weak, so we did not fold the laptop carelessly but spread it out.

Remove the battery connector first before replacing the memory and SSD.

The existing memory is equipped with SK Hynix DDR3L 4G low-power memory. Samsung DDR3L 4GB memory is additionally installed.

We also replaced the coin-type battery of the main board, which we have never replaced since purchasing.

We also replaced the CR2032 battery on the main board.

The CPU's thermal compound is also hardened, so I applied a new one.

My laptop is in thermal compound.

The heat sink also removed the hardened thermal compound and blew it out with a compressor from the outside.

Finally, the battery connector is connected to the main board. It's always something to check before closing the lid. There may be cases where you have to reopen.

Finally, the battery connector is being recombined.

Turn on the power again to enter the main board setting screen, and first check if the newly installed device is recognized normally. A total of 8 gigabytes of memory + 4 gigabytes = were properly recognized. 250 gigabytes of SSDs are properly recognized.

Checking the name of the newly installed part on the main board setting screen.

Old laptops sometimes recover their settings to their original state while using them, so we tried to restore them to default values first.

Changing to default value.

And, the hot key mode was disabled. This is because it is a laptop used by children, and sometimes when the airplane mode is pressed, the wireless Internet may not be available without knowing the reason.
